Hakuba is surrounded by some stunning natural scenery.  Don't forget your camera in Hakuba as wherever you travel in the region you will see stunning mountains and views.
 

Hakuba Sanroku Botanical Garden

Other than Hakuba's three big mountains, Hakuba's main symbol is its botanical garden. In the garden you will find 250 types of wild mountain grasses, mountain vegetables, wild mushrooms, etc.

The blueberries contain the same amount of vitamin C as lemons, plus they contain 6 times the concentration of calcium compared with milk making it a very healthy food to eat.

Hakuba Blueberry Farm

Blueberries in Hakuba are raised with lots of sunlight giving them a naturally occurring slightly sweet and sour flavor. If you pick the blueberries yourself the flavour is particularly good. The specially made jam is great with ice cream or yogurt.

Hakuba Herb Garden

As you approach you can begin to smell the lavender and other fine herbs. If you walk through these fragrant fields, you can also enjoy picking a wide variety of herbs to take with home with you.

Ooide Suspension Bridge

A gently flowing river, the grand Alps, thatched roof houses - this is where anyone could feel at home. Providing pretty views during any of the changing seasons, don't forget your camera.

 


Shirasawa Mountain Pass

On Route 406, go pass the tunnel from Nagano toward Hakuba and you will be rewarded with panoramic scenery that you will fall in love with. The grand mountains of the Northern Alps make many fine subjects for any photographer.

 

Hakuba Green Sports Park

A camping spot, athletic facilities such as tennis courts, mallete golf and fishing, as well as barbeques make this the perfect place for a family to enjoy time together in Hakuba.

Matsukawa River Park

The Matsukawa River overflows with water so clear that you can see through to the bottom. The symbol of Hakuba - the three mountains of Hakuba, the Hakuba Sanzan mountains - gently and powerfully tower high as if keeping an eye out. There are the Fureai-no-Mori and an onsen "Kurashita-no-Yu" at the foot of Hakuba Ohashi Bridge.
