When the diamond-shaped snow print shows up clearly on Mt. Goryu, the fawn lilies which are the village flowers of Hakuba Village bloom beautifully on the foot of Hakuba Goryu Ski Field. If you're lucky you can also find butterflies flying around the flowers to aesthetically please your eyes.

Chokokuji Weeping Cherry Tree

Best time to visit

Late Apr. 〜 Early Aug.

Chokokuji Temple located in the Iimori district of Hakuba Village is a popular temple of Shionomichi, and when the weeping cherry tree on the grounds of the temple are in full bloom, many photographers come and visit to capture its beautiful image swaying in the wind. On the temple ground, there is also an old cedar tree over 500-years-old, which is designated as a natural monument of Hakuba Village, standing with a historical presence.

Teirinji Cherry Tree

Best time to visit

Late Apr. 〜 Early Aug.

It is a bud variation of the winter flowering cherry and over 300-years-old. On the temple ground there are various cherry blossoms including the weeping cherry, Sargent's cherry, and winter flowering cherry. The grass field of the temple is also famous as a beauty spot of fawn lilies.

Himekawa Headwaters Nature Exploration Park

At Himekawa Headwaters Nature Exploration Park, you can enjoy the sight of seasonal flowers colorfully decorating the garden. Baikamo flowers are aquatic flowers that sway with the flow of the Himekawa Headwaters which is selected as one of the “100 best waters of Japan”. At Oyomi Wetlands which is 750m above sea level, you can find rare plants that grow in both low and high moors.
