When the first snow of the year falls in autumn, sometimes you can see the “Hakuba three-colored autumn leaves”; white from the snow, red from the leaves, and green from the conifers. This dreamy scenery continues to stun many photographers and artists. In addition, flowers such as cosmoses bloom at the foot, and when watching the flowers, greens, autumn leaves, and snow at once, it feels like the charms of the four seasons have come at once. We hope that our visitors will have a chance to find this splendid view that can only be seen during the season of the first snowfall.

The view of the Hakuba Sanzan from the Ooide Park is one of the most famous view points in Hakuba Village. With the Hakuba mountains in the background, the scenery of the Hime River, the Ooidenotsuri Bridge hanging over it, and the old houses with thatched roofs will make you feel like you have time traveled to a few decades ago. At Ooide Park, you will find completely different sceneries depending on the season. Only a few people have come across this comforting and nostalgic scenery of Hakuba Village's short autumn.

Hakuba Ohashi has been chosen as one of the “100 Best Roads in Japan” and is a bridge that hangs over the Matsu River drifting to the northern part of Hakuba Village. There is nothing that hinders the view from the bridge, and the gorgeous Hakuba Sanzan soars behind the river with the melted snow flowing from the mountains and autumn leaves surrounding it. There is a lawned resting area that is perfect for picnics with friends and families on a sunny day. This is an ideal place to relax and enjoy the beautifully colored leaves with the refreshing autumn wind and the sound of the river flow as a BGM.

Hakuba Iwatake is the only ski field at Hakuba Village which you can view the Hakuba Sanzan along with the city that spreads out on the foot of the mountain. The magnificent panorama of the autumn leaves will jump into your eyes as you reach the summit of the Hakuba Iwatake Ski Field on the gondola lift. At the mountaintop there is also a beech forest where you can enjoy a casual trekking. It is from this year that Hakuba Iwatake started opening during the autumn season, and we hope our visitors find a new beauty of Hakuba Village.

The Happo-one Nature Study Course spreads out on Hakuba Happo-one, continuing to the Happo Pond. If you take the gondola and 2 lifts, you will reach the altitude of 1,820m in no time. On clear days, you will find a magnificent scenery from the Southern Alps to Mount Fuji. Happo-one is also the closest to Hakuba Sanzan, and you can find not only beautiful autumn leaves but also the rocky surface of the mountains. Please enjoy the vast panorama that spreads out on an overwhelming scale.

A gondola lift telecabin hangs in Hakuba Goryu, and in autumn, you can experience a skywalk through the autumn leaves. On the trekking course from Hakuba Goryu Ski Field to the summit of Mt. Kotomi, you can walk through the beautifully dyed autumn leaves while feeling the autumn wind. While trekking, you will be approached by Mt. Goryu which is famous for its diamond-shaped snow print and will be able to feel its heroic figure closely. Please enjoy the 360-degree panorama spreading on the summit of Mt. Kotomi.
