The Mikamachi tunnel is about 4km downhill from the Miasa area. The view of the Northern Alps seen from the tunnel exit is GOOD. Take pictures safely from the sidewalk.

When you enter the forest area called “Wadano no Mori”, the scent of green and the cry of cicadas become stronger. Hotels and pensions are scattered throughout the forest, and except for the slopes, it resembles the atmosphere of Karuizawa.

Matsukawa Bridge is a spot where you can see the three mountains of Hakuba beautifully. Turn left at the intersection just ahead of Matsukawa Bridge, and the Matsukawa River Road is just around the corner. It is a wide and comfortable road that almost no cars pass through.

The weeping cherry tree that blooms in the precincts is an old tree that is over 300 years old and is also called Omaki and Zakura. This is because it was used as a guide for sowing hemp seeds when the cherry blossoms were in full bloom.
